"To support the efforts of community
physicians to provide quality cost-effective care to their patients in a
competitive managed care environment by forming long-term strategic
partnerships with managed care plans and employers".
SEQC includes both specialists and
primary care. Since the network is wholly physician owned,
representation and participation by the various specialties is extremely
important to SEQC's continued success. SEQC recognizes that primary care
physicians are key players in its success and therefore have equal
representation at the policy level.
- Each practice has input on policy
through its representative on the Management Committee
("Board") level.
- Primary Care, Medical and Surgical specialties all have
representation on SEQC's Executive Committee.
- The Executive Committee is authorized to represent the interests of
the network physicians and to enter into contracts on behalf of the
network under a "messenger" contracting model.
